Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We have been developing the HIR (Human-oriented Information Restructuring) system for driver's assistance. The HIR system acquires various kinds of information from the inside and outside of cars. Then, they are integrated and restructured in an easy-to-understand form for human and presented to the driver. Technologies such as sensing inside and outside cars, LED traffic light communication using a high speed camera and a photodiode, and in-vehicle 3D display are developed for the HIR system. The free viewpoint bird's-eye view system, parking assistance system and right turn assistance system using in-vehicle and infrastructure cameras at intersection are presented as examples of the HIR system.
