Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this report, we make a synchronization quality comparison of intra-stream synchronization algorithms for haptic media in work where a user lifts and moves a virtual object and in a remote drawing instruction system. As a haptic interface device, we use PHANToM DESKTOP or SPIDAR-G AHS in the former work and PHANToM Omni in the latter. We handle five intra-stream synchronization algorithms for haptic media: Virtual-Time Rendering (VTR), Buffering, Skipping, Queue Monitoring (QM), and the adaptive buffer control. By objective and subjective assessment, we clarify the quantitative relationships among the algorithms.
