Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We have developed a gaze estimation system with Web camera and investigated the gaze trajectories during computer operation training of two participants with higher brain dysfunction. By investigating the gaze of the participant D during track ball operation training, it is revealed that D watches his hand when he shifts his operation from rotating track ball to clicking button and that he pays his attention onto the change in the coordinates of the instruction text such as " rotate the ball " and " click " . We have prepared a training tool like a pin ball, which displays two ball moving up and down on the edges of left and right ends of the screen and make participants to try to repel by clicking, and asked to use an able-bodied person and two participants A and D. By investigating the gazes of them, the able-body person looks mainly at the center screen paying attention to the surrounding area and balls. On the other hand, the participant A who has the unilateral spatial neglect sees at the right of screen and seldom take care the left ball to repel and immediately sends the gaze back to the right ball. It is observed that the participant A sets his gaze in the right area as a home position due to left unilateral spatial neglect. As for the participant D, he can hit the left ball, but it is seen that he does not intend to hit the right ball neglecting to look at the right side of the screen. In addition, his eyes follows the motion of the left ball and this behavior is not seen in the result of gaze trajectory of the abled body participant.
