An Edutainment System with InterActors of a Teacher and a Student in which a User Plays a Double Role of Them

Abstract(in English) InterActor is a CG embodied interaction character driven by iRT which is the InterRobot Technology to make communicative motions and actions based on only speech input for entrained interaction. InterAnimal is an animal character of the speech-driven embodied entrainment character InterActor with both functions of speaker and listener on the basis of nonverbal entrainment such as nodding and body actions and motions coherently related to speech in face-to-face communication. Focusing on animal characters characteristics, a prototype of learning system with InterAnimal and the instruction interface that the teacher enjoys the double role has been developed for pleasant and effective learning. In this paper, the concept of a teaching interface with InterAnimals of a teacher and a student in which a user plays a double role of them is proposed, and the prototype of the system is developed. The effectiveness of the learning system and the interface is also demonstrated by the sensory evaluation of questionnaire and voice analysis.
