Abstract(in English) research and development of high power double cladding fiber lasers have been widely performed for application to industrial welding and other unique systems. Compared to the conventional double cladding fiber with polymer cladding, the air hole type double cladding fiber in which the pumping guide is surrounded by microstructured air holes has some advantages such as a high numerical aperture (NA) and a skew suppression. We propose a new configuration of fiber laser which consist of an Yb-doped air hole type double cladding fiber and a wavelength selective filter (900nm transmission / 1000nm reflection) deposited directly on the fiber end facet. Laser output power of 558 W and slope efficiency of 74% for the LD pumping power are achieved. The laser resonator consisting of a high-reflection (HR) coating directly on one fiber end and the other flat polished end requires no reflective mirrors and simplifies the laser configuration.
