Abstract(in English) This paper presents some characteristics of a novel optical near-field generator and detector fabricated by using a random metal-dielectric film composed of silver metal and fused silica balls. The generator formed on the facets of DFB or FP laser diodes convert lasing light into the optical near-field. Intensity-modulated optical signals emitted from the laser diodes are successfully transmitted through the film. The detectors formed on semiconductors such as Silicon, InGaAs, and InP clearly respond to the optical near field. These results show the applicability of the optical near-field generator and detector to opto-electronic integrated circuits with high density.
