Abstract(in English) To realize optical frequency standards and quantum computers, laser-cooled trapped single or arrays of ions are investigated. In this paper, we trap and laser cool Yb^+ ions produced by photoionization which enable us to detect trapping of ions easily and to load a specific isotope selectively. After elimination of undesired static potential, we observed the spectra of a few number of ^<174>Yb^+ with apploximately twice as wide as the natural width. We developed a method to load Yb^+ ions one-by-one.
