Abstract(in English) | The roadside-to-vehicle communication (RVC) system has been proposed as a new solution to reduce traffic accidents and traffic congestion. Since its target includes vehicle safety related applications, low latency and high reliability become the crucial requirements for the system, which increases the difficulties of system design under a dynamic traffic environment. So far, we have proposed a RVC system using narrow antenna beam switching technique to enhance reliability by transmitting the same data frames with multiple antenna beams. In this paper, we performed system evaluation based on a model of traffic flow through computer simulation, and conclude on certain conditions which this technique is very useful to avoid the degradation of radio wave propagation due to shadowing and multipath fading, therefore increase the communication reliability. |
