Abstract(in English) Although increasing the number of devices in a home network enables various services, the devices generate a lot of multicast and broadcast packets for UPnP/DLNA. Reception of such packets provides a problem, i.e. it increases power consumption of mobile devices and results in short battery life. This paper proposes two approaches to the problem: wireless LAN device driver and network segment solutions that prevent mobile nodes from receiving redundant multi/broadcast packets, We prototyped the latter solution and the experimental results are shown.
