Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We propose a coupler type mode filter (MF) which has the higher-order mode filtering effect in the wavelength region of shorter than the cutoff wavelength of a 1.3 μm zero-dispersion single-mode fiber (SMF). We experimentally investigate the improvement effect on the transmission performance at both 850 and 780 nm using the fabricated MF. We also discuss the length dependence of the transmission performance improvement.
