Abstract(in English) We report the wavelength division multiplexed (WDM) transmission in the 1 μm band over a 6 km PCF using a supercontinuum (SC) with a -10 dB bandwidth of 2.8 THz. We show the possibility of realizing WDM transmissions at more than 1 Tb/s in the 1 μm band over a low loss PCF by using a supercontinuum source. We also discuss the potential impact of the 1 μm band on optical communication.
