Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We have developed a real-time monitoring system at "Warabino-no-Tanada" of Saga Pref. A rice terraces, which is called as Tanada in Japan, is located a steep slope on the mountainside. There are no infrastructures such as electricity, Internet and so on, at the place. To install the monitoring system, we used long distance wireless LAN system and electricity generating system. The wireless LAN connects two places away by 25km. The electricity generating system generates electricity by solar power and wind power. The system is working since 02/05/2006. We believe results of our project, which is called as "The TANADA-Online Project", give a lot of knowledge for other areas under similar conditions.
