Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Network Virtualization is a promising approach to realize post IP networks. In Network Virtualization, resources in nodes and links are managed in an integrated way for efficient resource manipulation. However, before going large-scale, individual nodes have to have high-end capabilities to manage their own resources. From this regard, we consider Vitual Machine (VM) technologies to manage and manupulate a single node. Resource extracted from different nodes can then, be networked together for a specific purpose. In this paper, we consider allocating one node's left-over resources to other nodes in need of resources. As a case study, we consider VM downtime and re-allocate resources to reduce it in order to ensure service continuity.
