Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Along with on-going advances in mobile technologies, transmission speeds of laptops, cellular phones or other mobile terminals have remarkably improved. A wide range of video streaming services, designed for mo- bile terminals, have emerged. To realize high-quality streaming and effective usage of network resources, many researchers, from both industry and academia, are working in this area. In a previous research work, the authors proposed a multi-source streaming method for video streaming to mobile users. The proposed scheme improves playback quality and ensures efficient use of network resources. As a continuation of the work, this paper presents a handoff management mechanism to support the mobility of users'. Simulations are conducted for performance evaluation and the results are discussed.
