| 抄録(和) | 先行研究は、「まなざしから心を読む」テスト(Baron-Cohen et al., 2002)とそのアジア版を用いて、心的状態推論における文化的同一性の影響を検討した。4選択肢から回答させた場合も自由記述の場合も日本人大学生とアメリカの白人大学生の両方において、心的状態推論の自文化優位性が示された。本研究では、継時マッチングの手続きを使用し、こうした心的状態推論における文化の影響が顔認知のより初期の段階において生じるか検討した。結果は、in-groupのまなざし刺激に対する一致反応がoutgroupに比べて早い一方、こうした差異が試行を経ると消失することを示した。これらの結果は、心的状態推論において文化の影響があることと、その可塑性を示している。 |
| 抄録(英) | The previous study examined the role that cultural identity plays in mind reading, using the "Reading the mind in the eyes" test(Baron-Cohen et al., 2002) and its Asian version, which we developed. The results reveal an intracultural advantage in mind reading across native Japanese and U.S. Caucasian participants when both the four-alternative and open-ended response formats were used. The present study adopted a sequential matching task to examine whether this cultural difference in mind reading would emerge at an early stage of face processing. The results showed that the response times for a "matched" response were faster for in-group eye stimuli than for out-group eye stimuli, although this difference in response times ceased when the trials were repeated. These results demonstrate the influence of cultural identity on mind reading and its plasticity. |
