Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We are currently working on Strino, a technology that utilizes real objects as user interfaces. The technology is based on strain measurement. Objects with strain gauges or sensors can be used to design interactive system. In this paper, we indicate the problems that arise especially when the technology is applied to small, portable objects. We build a system that automatically adjusts gain and offset of the amplifier that is used with strain sensor. The system also contains a Bluetooth module and can send strain data wirelessly. We have tested the system with daily commodities, and probed that they can be utilized as interfaces.
