Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We have developed a sound localization system that presents sound images only to the users by using ultrasonic wave. We call this the u-soul(Ultrasonic/Ubiquitous-SOUnd Localization interface). It provides the auditory differences in volume and arrival time between both ears to realize sound localization. For this purpose, we have developed a head phone with ultrasonic microphones which capture the sounds modulated into the ultrasonic wave. In this paper, we introduce the applications of this system.
