| 抄録(和) | ラマチャンドランが行ったゴム手袋実験では、目前のゴム手袋への刺激の視覚情報とついたての向こうにある自分の手の触覚刺激を組み合わせるマルチモーダル刺激により、ゴム手袋が自分の身体の一部となったように感じられる(ボディイメージの変化).従来の実験ではアンケートなどによる定性的な解析であったが、本研究では自分の手の触覚刺激の感覚時間を高精度で測定するシステムを構成した.ゴム手袋への視覚刺激を自分の手の触覚刺激に対してわずかに先行させることにより、感覚時間の減少を定量的に解析し、ボディイメージの変化の強さを解析した.また、ゴム手袋を箱などに変更した場合には、マルチモーダル錯覚は大幅に減少することが判った. |
| 抄録(英) | In Ramachandran's rubber hand experiment, the subject is faced to the two combined stimuli (multi-modal stimuli): the visual information of the stimulation to the rubber hand and the tactile stimulus to his own hand that is hidden behind the screen. Interestingly, the subject tends to have an illusory feeling that the rubber hand became a part of his body (change of body image). Previously, the test of this illusion was carried out only qualitatively by an enquete. In this study, we built a computer-based system for measuring precisely the reaction time to the tactile stimulus. Under the delayed tactile stimulation to the actual hand after the visual information of the stimulation to the rubber hand, we measured the decrease of the reaction time to quantify the degree of strength of multi-modal illusion. We also found that this type of illusion was largely attenuated by replacing the rubber hand into other non-hand object like a box. |
