Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Property to extract outline of the primary visual cortex comes from the function of the modules that prefer to respond the particular slope, so we often use Gabor filter as the simple model that has this property. In this study, we try to estimate an original image from the filter responses obtained through applying Gabor filter to an original image by Bayesian inference. It is just to estimate visual image from the information of the brain activity in the primary visual cortex. Concerning image restoration using Bayesian inference, in the case that prior probability or noise probability have translational symmetric property, we can easily do image restoration using Fourier transformation. Other, Gabor filter, a kind of the convolution filter, we can decrease amount of calculation by Fourier transformation. We try to estimate an original image from filter responses and estimate hyper parameters by maximizing marginalized likelihood.
