Abstract(in English) We aim to clarify about effects of cameras and monitors, which are important equipments for mimamori-care system, on the mimamori-care work in group home. "Mimamori" is a Japanese word meaning watching someone or monitoring something. "Mimamori-care" implies not only watching persons with dementia but also supporting their independence to ensure adequate dementia care. To achieve our goal, we interviewed 11 caregivers who work at group homes introduced the mimamori-care system. As result, several important effects about mimamori-care work were found out from interviewees' comments. Despite the system makes peace of mind, which is one of the most important factors for the mimamori-care works, the system leads to work stress to caregivers concerned with violation of the privacy rights.
