Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) A microplasma, which has smaller size than a conventional plasma and has plasma frequency at 20-30 GHz, was generated and its integration formed one-dimensional and two-dimensional periodic structures. We observed microwave propagation through these structures below the plasma frequency, where the microplasmas show metal-like properties. Observed band gaps and localized-surface-plasmon-like modes were compared with theoretical predictions.
