Abstract(in English) NTT Network Service Systems Laboratories are conducting an R&D project on so-called IP optical networking, which encompasses (1) multi-layer traffic engineering and (2) multi-layer mutli-service networks. Multi-layer traffic engineering improves network resource utilization and resiliency. Multi-layer multi-service network reduces the investment risk of network infrastructure by providing multiple service networks over a common single infrastructure network. In order to promulgate the network architecture we have been contributing the standardization in the IETF. We developed a prototype of TE server based on the network architecture to demonstrate the proof-of-concept of our architecture using the testbed network, where commercial IP routers and optical transport node systems are deployed.
