Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Photonic crystal has two stable state against input light power, and is expected for the application of optical RAM devices. However, the current technology cannot keep the two stable state for a long time. In this paper, we evaluate the performance of optical packet switch architectures that uses photonic crystal as an optical RAM buffer. By the simulation, we clarify the requirements for buffer size and optical bistable lifetime to achieve lower packet loss probability.
