Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) With optical feedback, instability of oscillation modes occurs and it causes intensity noise in the output light of laser diodes. Thus oscillation mode instabilities need to be suppressed for noise reduction. In this report, we have applied Michelson interferometer type external cavity for a first time to the 400nm band blue-violet laser diode and demonstrated noise reduction scheme in the experiment by means of oscillation modes stabilization with properly adjusting the optical-path-length difference of two mirrors. As a result, the achieved relative intensity noise (RIN) value reaches approximately as low as -135dB/Hz.
