Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) A simplified calculation method is presented for dispersion and group velocity dispersion of TE, TM, and hybrid modes in a Bragg fiber, and its errors are estimated. The present method evaluates the propagation constant as a correction from the solution under the quarter-wave stack, and we can obtain it without solving a transcendental equation. The method enables us to calculate the dispersion curve for four mode groups with high accuracy. We intensively analyze the group velocity dispersion of the TE mode that has low loss. The calculation error is within a few percent in an application range.
