Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) When an electromagnetic plane wave is incident on a periodic surface, the diffraction into discrete directions takes place. However, only the reflection occures with the reflection coefficinet -1 and no diffraction takes place when the angle of incidence becomes low grazing limit. On the base of such singular behavior, this paper developes a new formulation of the diffraction theory. A new representation of diffraction amplitude by the scattering factor, a new formula for the diffraction efficiency, the reciprocity relation of the scattering factor, and a new formula of the energy balance are proposed. Some numerical results are illustarated for the TM plane wave diffraction by a perfectly conductive periodic array of rectangular grooves.
