Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) A technique was developed to estimate the scattering coefficient of diffuse medium such as a biological body by the time-resolved measurement of backscattered light. The effectiveness of the technique was confirmed in the Monte Carlo simulation. In the analysis of measurement noise, appropriate conditions of the measurement were obtained. The effect of the inhomogeneity of the absorption coefficient was investigated. The possibility to suppress the effect was demonstrated. In the case of an inhomogeneous scattering coefficient, the meaning of the time-dependent estimated value was clarified.
