Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We conducted an fMRI experiment to investigate neural mechanisms specific to one's own voice. Subjects (n=19) listened to morphed voices and were asked to judge a speaker of voices(self, a friend or a stranger) by pressing one of four buttons during MRI scanning. We classified the imaging data according to subjects' decisions and analyzed using an event-related design. As a result the bilateral superior/middle frontal gyrus, the right inferior parietal lobule, the left supramarginal gyrus and the left middle occipital gyrus were activated when the subjects judged the voices as their own voice.
