Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) A radial basis function network (RBFN) can be applied to image restoration and interpolation. The RBFN is a linear combination of radial basis functions (RBF's) by RBF coefficients. The RBF coefficients are updated by a simple iterative method without calculating inverse matrices. Since the iterative method is so simple, some existing niters can be adopted easily. In this paper, the simple iterative method andε-filter are combined to solve problems of image restoration and interpolation, and shown to be an effective method. The iterative method is extended and applied to image compression also.
