Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The most common technique of handling contactless smart card systems is to tap cards toward fixed readers/writers(RWs). We have investigated contactless smart card systems where portable RWs are tapped toward the smart cards. The RWs for this new approach need to be miniaturized sufficiently to be embedded in portable electronic devices, consume lower power, and have multiple contactless interfaces. In this paper, we propose a new usage of tapping RWs toward the contactless smart cards, define requirements of the RWs suitable for the usage, and determine the feasibility by prototyping and evaluating them.
