| Abstract(in English) | Researches and Developments of biometric authentication systems have been carrying on along with standardization activities of ISO and ITU-T. It is recognized that biometric authentication, which has been studied mainly as pattern matching technology, needs security aspects, and researches of vulnerabilities and their countermeasures are getting hot. In this presentation, characteristics of biometric authentication, operational requirements for biometric authentication systems and biometric system security such as template protection are discussed. |
