A Survey on the Ways of Supporting Persons with Cognitive Disabilities in Outing

Abstract(in English) In this paper, a result of a survey is reported, with regard to outing of persons with cognitive disabilities. The theme of the survey is whether they could use ICT, such as navigation function of cellular phones. Their interests are also investigated about social infrastructures promoted by several governmental projects. Interviews were conducted with experts on supporting persons with HBD, higher brain dysfunctions, such as medical doctor, speech therapist, vocational trainers and so forth. Another group interview was made with several persons with HBD and their families. The result of the survey showed that many persons with HBD use the call function of cellular phones and can not use the navigation function. It also revealed that a lot of specialists, persons with HBD, and their families were not so interested in these governmental projects.
