Abstract(in English) Familiarity-controlled Word-lists 2007 (FW07) has been released. FW07 was developed for assessing hearing ability in daily life conditions. FW07 aims to be easier use in clinical examinations, such as fitting hearing aid. For this aim, we made two modifications to FW03. First, the number of word in each list was reduced from 50 to 20 to lessen subjects' burden. Second, not only the phonemic distribution was balanced by the same way as FW03 but also the speech level of each word in the lists was adjusted by referring to the SRT (Speech Recognition Threshold) of each word. This aims at making the differences of mean intelligibility among word lists as small as possible in the same familiarity rank. The results from word intelligibility tests for FW03 and FW07 showed that smaller differences of the mean word intelligibility of the lists in FW07 than in FW03. This means that FW07 is useful for measuring word intelligibility in clinical situation and it provides us a better measure to assess the hearing ability in daily life easily and accurately.
