Abstract(in English) | Multi-car elevator (MCE) systems present inherent characteristics, which make the implementation of traditional elevator control techniques in them impossible. Therefore, the development of a group control method able to execute an optimal allocation of floor calls, while considering the MCE characteristics, is required. In this paper we propose the use of a schedule completion time optimization algorithm, which will allocate the floor call to the elevator that will take the passenger to his destination in the minimum time, along with a parking strategy to secure the building's service zone coverage according to the identified traffic pattern. The performance of the algorithm depends on 3 main factors the schedule completion time optimization, the collision risk evaluation and the parking strategy. According to the simulation results the collision risk evaluation has a major contribution to the performance of the algorithm. In addition, a comparison between our algorithm and a sample zoning algorithm was performed. The results show our algorithm to be outstanding in the presence of up-peak, down-peak and special floor traffic patterns. |
