Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | Optical performance monitoring (OPM) using asynchronous amplitude histogram enables assessing optical signal quality regardless of signal format or bit rate. OPM is expected to become an indispensable element of future generation of optical networks. This contribution reports on the broad application of the averaged Q-parameter obtained from asynchronous histogram for NRZ signals. Accurate, high-speed monitoring of WDM channels is shown. Finally the application of the asynchronous amplitude histogram monitoring technique for multilevel phase-modulated RZ-DQPSK signal is demonstrated. |
