Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | On-chip optical interconnect technology is expected to be utilized for solving future problems in LSI's electrical global wirings. In the technology, miniaturization and low-cost fabrication of on-chip optical devices should be realized. Silicon-photonics is a good candidate for the purpose. Here, concepts of on-chip optical interconnect and fundamental devices like photo-detectors, waveguides, and optical modulators are introduced. |
