Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) has been widely used for a mine detection, because of its good penetration to ground and high resolution capability. Most of a vehicle mounted mine detection sensor use down-looking GPR (DLGPR). In this presentation, forward-looking GPR (FLGPR) is applied for mine detection. FLGPR can perform data gathering at a long standoff distance in a wide view area. Transmitting and receiving antennas are slid mechanically to investigate method of standoff mine detection fundamentally. Improvement of resolution is confirmed by applying DAS (Delay and Sum), which is synthetic aperture radar (SAR) image formation method. Examination of a feasibility of FLGPR is conducted by the experimental result.
