Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Communicating by the use of an emergency telephone in a tunnel in an expressway is not easy, because an ambient noise level is very high. So we have been studying about a noise suppressor which can cancel the high level tunnel noise existing in the expressway. Since the tunnel noise can be modeled as a random noise, we have previously proposed a noise suppressor using lattice filter which can cancel a white random noise included in an observed signal. But, the practical tunnel noise is not white. Hence the capability of the proposed system is comparatively low. In this paper, a new adaptive algorithm for suppressing the high level tunnel noise is proposed. The proposed algorithm can cancel a signal whose auto-correlation is weak such as the tunnel noise. Since the computational cost of the proposed algorithm is low, it can be easily implemented on a DSP (Digital Signal Processor). The real time, noise suppression experiments show that the proposed noise suppressor implemented on the DSP can dramatically reduce the tunnel noise.
