| 抄録(英) | We conducted a survey on the use of mobile phones, computers, and the Web by visually impaired persons. This report focuses on the use of mobile phones. The number of respondents who use mobile phones was 380. Characteristically, most visually impaired users, especially print disabled persons, use specific "universal design" type models with voice output. Seventy-five percent of print disabled respondents use e-mail, and 63% the Web through mobile phones. They requested the improvement of display legibility, advanced voice output which is realized by screen readers, a GPS feature, and other applications useful to visually impaired users. |
