Abstract(in English) We are researching and developing a multimedia browsing system for persons with visual disabilities. Data broadcasting and electronic program guides (EPG) rely heavily on navigating a graphical user interface (GUI) environment in much the same way as computers and the Web. Our present work aimed at making it easier for users to understand menu screens, figures, and tables and to access information through a combination of sequential audio description and tactile display techniques that enables them to spatially grasp the information. In this paper we present an overview about the performance of a prototype 2-D tactile display featuring touch sensor, and show some possible applications by using this interactive presentation method.
