Abstract(in English) A 5GHz SiGe HBT linear driver amplifier using a base current control circuit with input power detection is described. The control circuit consists of a power detection block and a bias control block. The detected current is increased according to the input power level in the power detection block, and the added detected current is provided to the bias circuit in the bias control block. As a result, the base voltage is also increased, and high linearity can be realized. The fabricated proposed driver amplifier achieved the P_<1dB> improvement of 2.6dB compared to the conventional driver amplifier.
