Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Although real-time image processing is key to advanced robot vision systems, a conventional software approach with a general computer system consisting of a micro processor and memory is difficult to achieve enough performance at reasonable power consumption for embedded systems. This paper shows FPGA implementation of template matching with two cameras which enables real-time acquiring of 3-D information of tracking target objects. The system features stream processing implementation for achieving real-time performance, avoidance of stereo matching and preprocessing for input images, and scalable implementation in which the number of templates can be increased without performance degradation.
