Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The authors have considered applying cognitive radio for an efficient use of frequency resource over multiple radio links. They have proposed a beam switching scheme to radio links among inter-base stations, and analyzed its transmission performance. This time, they have extended their evaluation to accommodate mobile WiMAX transmissions as realistic and efficient broadband radio communications. In this paper, the transmission characteristics of inter-base station beam switching are evaluated, assuming a broadband and asymmetric transmission of up- and down-link. Furthermore, the evaluations are extended to some cascaded topologies applicable for disaster relief deployment. Obtained results show that a beam switching of a broadband transmission has better transmission performance than a fixed capacity assignment of a narrowband transmission depending on conditions in those basic and cascaded cases.
