Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) OFDM direct conversion architecture gives flexibility and reduces cost and power consumption. However, it may suffer from DC offset, frequency offset, and IQ imbalance. This report presents a IQ imbalance estimation scheme for OFDM direct conversion receivers. The proposed IQ imbalance estimation scheme works in the presence of DC offset and Frequency offset. The proposed scheme employs three preamble symbols and calculates IQ imbalance with 2nd order equation. Evaluation of the presented estimation scheme is carried out on an OFDM communication system designed to the specifications of the IEEE 802.11a/g standard for WLANs. Numerical results through computer simulation show that the proposed frequency offset estimation scheme works well even with large DC offset, Frequency offset, and IQ imbalance.
