| 抄録(和) | 光ファイバの二次非線形光学特性は、第二高調波発生や光スイッチ等への応用が期待される。ここではコアの側方に空孔を持つファイバに電極線を通して、高温下で電圧印加によるポーリングにより、二次非線形光学特性を誘起し、YAGレーザ光を基本波として第二高調波発生を行った。また、非線形性を周期的に消去することによって擬似位相整合を行った。ここではポーリングを行ったファイバに、40μm間隔のフォトマスク越しにKrFエキシマレーザー光を照射することで行った。マスクの間隔に関しては、ファイバの角度を変えることによって最適な間隔が41.1μmであると確認され、第二高調波強度は最大15倍の増大を得た。 |
| 抄録(英) | The second-order nonlinearity of optical fiber is expected for applications to second-harmonic generators, optical modulators, or switches. We studied the second-order nonlinearity of silica fiber having side tunnels induced by poling with electrode wires put into the tunnels. Q-switched Nd: YAG laser pulses were coupled to the core of the fiber, and the second-harmonic wave was measured. To satisfy the phase matching condition, the quasi phase matching was performed by periodic erasure of nonlinearity. The poled fiber was irradiated with a KrF excimer laser through a silica mask patterned with a 40-μm pitch chromium stripe. By changing the angle of the fiber with respect to the mask pattern the optimum period was found to be 41.1μm, then the second-harmonic power increased by a factor of up to 15. |
