Incentive Mechanisms for Position Control in Mobile Services

Abstract(in English) In mobile network services, the increase of users reduces users' service quality because the radio resource is limited and shared by the users. A solution for such a problem is user position control. In the user position control, users change the positions to get a higher-quality service according to the suggestion from the operator. However, because of the cost caused by the movement, users do not always respond to the suggestions. On the other hand, In network services that require users' contributions, to motivate users to contribute their resources, incentive rewarding mechanisms have been proposed. However, the conventional methods can not be applied to user position control because they defined rewards and costs as specific models. In this paper, we propose a novel incentive mechanism that appropriately can assign rewards to users according to satisfactions of users. The proposed mechanism uses the external evaluator and the interactive agents. We also investigate the way of appropriately controlling rewards based on users' contributions and system service quality. We apply the proposed mechanism and reward control to user position control, and demonstrate its validity.
