Abstract(in English) | In general, TVs and sensor networks, a transmitter never retransmits the same information to the receivers. In spite of retransmitting the information, the receivers that have received the same information and that are close to each other combine their information to decode for the better performance. This scheme is referred to as collaborative decoding. In the conventional collaborative decoding scheme, turbo code or convolutional code is used as the error correction code. In recent years low-density parity-check (LDPC) code is receiving much attention because it can yield very good performance close to the Shannon limit. However, the performance of collaborative decoding on LDPC code is not clear. In this report, we point out the problem of large amount of overhead in the conventional collaborative decoding scheme, and propose to divide an encoded block into segments to improve the problem. We collaborate and decode based on average Log Likelihood Ratios (LLRs) in a segment. We show that our proposed scheme succeeds in yielding high throughput by small amount of overhead through computer simulation. We also show that there is a suitable segment size for the required overhead size. |
