Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this paper we propose a speaker verification method based on CELP (Code Excited Linear Prediction) speech coding scheme. The proposed method utilizes CELP parameters which are used in speech coding schemes for mobile phone networks or IP networks, and verifies a speaker only with the encoded speech. The merits of the proposed method are as follows; 1. Utilizing CELP coding process, the proposed method can be applied to mobile terminals and network systems which have limited resources by adding a little function. 2. Since CELP parameters contain a speaker's characteristics of articulation, text-independent speaker verification is realized. For implementation of mobile-phone with the function of speaker verification, we demonstrated the effectiveness of the proposed method, which using the characteristic of the speech sound.
