Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The more technologies advance, the higher mission achievements are demanded in small satellite missions. Less weight and lower cost of satellites directly reflect on that for onboard transponder. The transponder is a core component of communication subsystem of satellites functioning for transmitting telemetry data, receiving command data, and relaying back ranging signal. It is usually used in redundant configuration due to criticality as tracking, telemetry and command (TT&C) system for mission success. Therefore, the development of small sized, power saving transponder plays a significant role in small satellite design. We have been developing such a S-band transponder for small satellites. It weighs about 1kg, has dimensions of 110×110×100mm^3, and consumes less than 7W. We will discuss more detail on our new transponder.
