Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Electromagnetic interference (EMI) from Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) reader/writers on implantable medical devices are investigated and ways to prevent this EMI are discussed. Accordingly, our research objectives are to study a numerical EMI estimation method. First, high frequency (HF) RFID reader/writer antenna models are constructed, and the obtained data of magnetic field distributions created around the antenna by using finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method and experimentally measured data by using the three-dimensional automatic EMF measurement system are comparatively discussed. Next, numerical models of torso phantom and implantable cardiac pacemaker are constructed, and the measured and calculated magnetic field strengths inside the phantom are compared to confirm the validity of the constructed phantom. Finally, a fundamental estimation of induced voltage at the connector of the implantable cardiac pacemaker is discussed.
